Hi all,

MiraUser form the K2OC forum told me to come here. I drive a Daihatsu YRV Turbo with some mods. I need some help and advice please?

Mods:
powerflow 57mm downpipe and freeflow exhaust
Unichip - UniQ
K&N cone filter
Boost cooler - 50% water/meth injection
35mm drop Tein springs
15" SSW Sting rims sprayed black
custom top front brace bar
custom lower front control arm bar
custom Co2 spray system for intercooler

Power: 133kw & 236nm @ 1.2 bar on flywheel
At the strip: 15.0s 1/4mile & 179km/h 1/2mile
Topspeed: Well way past 220km/h on the clock  ;)





I can't decide what to do with the turbo, I have Garrett T25 lying in the garage and was thinking of replacing the IHI RHF3 turbo with it but not sure if it is a good idea and if it will make more power.

On the other hand I am considering to just replace the compressor wheel on the RHF3 with a bigger one, so that means I have to machine the housing of the turbo. I can't find the size of the oem compressor wheel of the IHI RHF3 anywhere on the net and so not sure how big I must go either. I was thing maybe 3 millimeters on the inducer and exducer should be ok. What you guys think?

Any idea of the size of the injecters on the YRV Turbo?

I also wanted to upgrade the swaybars but can't find any aftermarket swaybars for the car?

cool thanx for the info guys!! Any idea where to get uprated swaybars? How is the turbo lag on the GT20 and GT25? So the T25 should work fine?

To replace cartridge (compressor wheel and turbine side) is not the best way to deal with. Housing should be bored, rotor assy must be balanced, etc...

The best solution is to change turbo assy. Garret T25 will be perfect with 450-550cc injectors - 1.3-1.4bar on standard block (imho). You may get 14,0sec on standart tyres with this setup. Egt or wideband to be installed as well. So, my advise is to change turbo, your setup is more or less ready for this step.

By the way, how did you reach 1,2 bar on stock turbine, as far as we know, it could blow 1,2 at 4500rpm, not higher, then boost goes down up to 1.0bar?

Another question is regarding water/meth injection, no one from us installed it so far. What you think, is it really help to reduce exhaust tempreture and knocks? What is the price for set?

And what abt Unichip, is it friendly for use, are you adjusting it by yourself?

I used a m75 valve(boost controller) you get of vw turbo cars and connect it between the turbo and the wastgate to bleed of some air, it is controlled by the unichip to make it boost to 1.2 bar at the top, I had it on 1.3 bar but injectors couldn't keep up. So you say stock internals can hande 1.3-1.4 bar with the T25 on?

We have 95ul here and I got detonation issues at 1 bar and water/meth made a uses difference, detonation is gone and I gained 15kw at the top just by using it. It cools down intake temps alot. I still need to upgrade the intercooler though.

Unichip works nice and is easy to use but I took my car to a tuner to do it for me.You should be able to tune it.

it is a 2006 2wd and the auto box works nicely, no issues!

я где-то читал, что правый руль в 2005 закончили выпускать. левый - в 2006. На фото правый руль.
иль не прав?

We in africa we always get stuff later! :) Even got a 2007. I think it was leftover stock from Japan.
